Nearly 80 seniors are participating in the three-week pilot before applications for the regional seniors travel card are accepted from Wednesday 29 January 2020.

The regional seniors travel card provides eligible seniors in regional, rural and remote areas with a $250 prepaid card to help ease the cost of travel.

The new card will help seniors travel to and from essential services and make it easier and more affordable for them to remain connected with friends and family. The cards are valid for a minimum of 12 months from the time of activation.

To be eligible for the card, applicants must hold a valid Pensioner Concession Card or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card. Seniors must also live in regional NSW, outside the Sydney, Newcastle or Wollongong City Council boundaries.
