Stolen Vehicle And Robbery Charges At Gladstone

Detectives from Gladstone Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 17-year-old boy in relation to stolen vehicle and robbery offences in the Gladstone region.

It will be alleged on October 20 around 7.45pm, the boy stole a Mitsubishi Lancer parked on Central Lane, Gladstone Central and fled the scene.

Later that evening around 11pm, the boy was traveling in the allegedly stolen Mitsubishi Lancer and stopped behind a Suzuki Swift on Bole Street, West Gladstone.

He exited the vehicle and approached the driver, an 18-year-old woman, threatening her with a crowbar.

The woman refused entry to her vehicle and the boy fled the scene in the allegedly stolen Mitsubishi Lancer.

She was physically unharmed.

The allegedly stolen Mitsubishi Lancer was located the following day, October 21, on O’Malley Street, West Gladstone.

It will be further alleged the boy was driving a stolen Toyota Camry, and crashed the vehicle near Dixon Drive, New Auckland around 1.30pm on November 2.

He fled the scene on foot.

Police allegedly located knives and drug utensils inside the crashed car.

Following extensive investigations, police located the boy at Clinton and arrested him on November 3.

The 17-year-old South Gladstone boy has been charged with 21 offences, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted robbery, going armed so to cause fear, stealing, receiving tainted property, evasion offence at night, driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence and contravention of a domestic violence order.

He is due before Gladstone Childrens Court today, November 4.
