Students’ outstanding achievement recognised 29 January

Sixty-three exceptional senior secondary students from across Tasmania will be recognised with TASC Outstanding Achievement Awards at a ceremony at Government House later today.

Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, will be on hand to present the awards.

“Congratulations to all the award recipients on their achievement and excellence in a diverse range of academic and Vocational Education and Training (VET) studies in 2023,” Minister Jaensch said.

“All of the 2023 award recipients have excelled in their chosen courses and have distinguished themselves through their achievement, effort and dedication.

“You are an extraordinary and impressive group of young people and all of Tasmania looks forward to seeing what you go on to achieve, with the infinite opportunities in front of you.

“Your teachers, family and friends are all proud of how you have dedicated yourself and your focus on learning and achieving your plans for the future.”

During the ceremony, 33 students will receive the TASC Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, recognising the students who attained Tasmania’s highest academic results with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 99.5 or above.

Another 30 students will receive the TASC Outstanding Achievement in VET Award, recognising students who demonstrated excellence in their VET programs, ranging from hospitality, tourism, engineering, veterinary studies, sport coaching and performing arts who successfully achieved the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE).
