Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged four men over their alleged involvement in the manufacturing of cloned number plates for staged vehicles.
In July 2026, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command located a Toyota Camry – with cloned number plates – in Greystanes.
The car was seized with police locating a jerry can, a bottle of bleach and the car’s original number plates in the vehicle.
Following the discovery, detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Taskforce Falcon – with assistance from Strike Force Duncan – commenced an investigation into the incident.
As part of inquiries, taskforce detectives determined that an organised syndicate was responsible for the manufacturing of the clone plates to be used on staged vehicles by organised crime groups across Sydney.
Following inquiries, about 6.35am on Tuesday (8 September 2026), taskforce detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – executed a search warrant at a home on Barabra Boulevard, Seven Hills.
During the search, police located and seized a number of cloned number plates, items used in the manufacturing of the plates and small amounts of cocaine, cannabis and other illicit substances.
Following the search, police arrested a 24-year-old man at the scene before taking him to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with:
- Dishonestly interfere/copy unique identifier (10 counts)
- Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime less than or equal to $5000
- Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance
- Possess prohibited drug (two counts)
He was refused bail and appeared before Blacktown Local Court the same day. He is next due to appear before the same court on Thursday 24 September 2026.
Following further inquiries, about 6.05am on Wednesday (9 September 2026), taskforce detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – arrested a 29-year-old man at a service station in Bardia, and a second man – aged 18 – at a home on Bardia Avenue.
During the second arrest, police located and seized $21,950 cash, 31g of heroin, and small amounts of cocaine and other illicit drugs from the home.
Both men were taken to Campbelltown Police Station where the older man was charged with:
- Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 & more than $5000
- Supply prohibited drug more than small & less than or equal to indictable quantity
- Possess prohibited drug (four counts)
The younger man was charged with:
- Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 & more than $5000
- Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance
- Possess prohibited drug (two counts)
Both men were granted strict conditional bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 24 September 2026.
Following further extensive investigations, about 10.35am yesterday (Thursday 10 September 2026), taskforce detectives attended Parramatta Court House where they arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with dishonestly interfere/copy unique identifier (nine counts).
The 23-year-old was refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Local Court yesterday. He is next due to appear before the same court on Thursday 24 September 2026.
Police will allege in court the men were all involved in the supply of cloned number plates to organised crime networks to be used on staged vehicles.
At this time Taskforce Falcon detectives have arrested 803 people resulting in 2,090 charges being laid.
