Tasmania Institute of Sport coaching scholarships announced

Nic Street, Minister for Sport and Recreation

The 2023-24 Tasmanian Institute of Sport Coaching Centre Scholarships will support seven Tasmanians to build their futures in professional sport.

Minister for Sport and Recreation, Nic Street, said the recipients are set to participate in an intensive professional development program to build up their skills and prepare them for a life in professional coaching.

“In addition to this dedicated training, these talented Tasmanians will receive financial assistance across the year-long development program and mentoring from experienced coaches,” Minister Street said.

“Importantly, three of today’s recipients are being supported by Womensport and Recreation Tasmania who have a strong focus on getting more women into coaching in Tasmania.”

The Minister said the recipients this year cover five different sporting disciplines from around the state.
