Teen dies after being struck by car in Colyton

A teenager has died after being hit by a car in Colyton today.

Just after 2pm (Monday 16 December 2019), emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway following reports that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, and treated a 14-year-old girl for head injuries.

Police were told that a White Nissan Pulsar, driven by a 43-year-old woman, collided with the teen near Bennett Street.

The 14-year-old was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Despite efforts, she died on the way to the hospital.

All east bound lanes are closed on the Great Western Highway with traffic being diverted down Sydney Street.

The driver of the Nissan has been taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries continue into the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
