Telecommunications Tower Glen Waverley North Reserve

Works to install a mobile telecommunications tower at Glen Waverley North Reserve will start on Tuesday, 24 March.

The planning permit for the Optus facility was approved by Council in March 2016 and a planning permit extension was granted in June 2019.

An appeal on the decision went to VCAT in July 2017 and a compromise was reached on design regarding height and location to minimise visual impact. Additional sportsground lighting will be installed on the tower.

Optus must strictly adhere to Commonwealth legislation and regulations administered by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm.

There will be no impact to vehicles and pedestrians using public roads and footpaths outside of the oval.

The works will be completed on 9 April.
