The temporary indoor playground at Orange Indoor Tennis Centre will reopen this Saturday 6 July, just in time for the winter school holidays.
Orange City Council Sport and Recreation Committee chair, Cr Tammy Greenhalgh welcomed the return of the playground for the third year in a row.
“I’m pleased the tennis centre operators have come on board again to provide an indoor space for children to play this winter,” Cr Greenhalgh said.

“The indoor tennis centre is the perfect location for the playground. It’s close to the city centre and there’s plenty of space for children to run around indoors, protected from the weather.”
In 2022, Council purchased equipment to ensure there was a place for kids to play in the cooler months and the Indoor Tennis Centre have added to it.
The playground will feature four inflatable obstacle courses, slides and jumping castles suitable for children aged from preschool to primary school, and a ball pit for the tiny tots.
There is also a canteen selling food, coffee, tea and cold drinks, snacks, lollies and ice creams.
During the school holidays the playground will be open 7 days, 9.30am to 2pm.
During school term the playground will be open Monday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 12.30pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.
The temporary indoor playground is expected to be open until the end of winter. The Orange Indoor Tennis Centre is located at 9 Palmer Street, behind the Orange Function Centre.
