On National Dog Day today, Therapy Dogs are visiting members at Burnie Police Station.
“As part of the broad range of Wellbeing Support Services provided to our members, therapy dogs regularly visit police stations,” said Commander Debbie Williams.
“Accompanied by Wellbeing Support Officers, today therapy dogs Loui and Nova will visit members at Burnie Police Station, providing an opportunity for those in attendance to engage with and take comfort from the dogs.
“The impact of therapy dog visits on our members can be profound, assisting to alleviate stress and promoting wellbeing in the workplace.”
5-year-old Loui and 3-year-old Nova are scent trained to assist with stress and depression. Loui is a grounding and cuddling dog and Nova is trained as a distraction.
