Third person charged after Sunbury shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have today charged a third person following a non-fatal shooting in Sunbury in February.

A 31-year-old Roxburgh Park man was arrested this morning and subsequently charged with a number of offences including intentionally cause serious injury and conduct endangering life.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court tonight.

Police also searched a property linked to the man and located five firearms and ammunition.

Today’s charges follow the shooting of a 57-year-old Sunbury man as he got out of his vehicle in the driveway of a Belleview Drive, Sunbury property on Saturday, 8 February.

Police previously charged two people in February in relation to this incident.

A 39-year-old Kangaroo Flat man was charged with attempted armed robbery, intentionally cause serious injury and conduct endangering life.

A 40-year-old Long Gully woman was charged with attempted armed robbery, intentionally and recklessly cause serious injury, conduct endangering life and prohibited person possess and use firearm.
