Tokyo Institute of Technology Environmental Report 2023

The Japanese version of Tokyo Institute of Technology Environmental Report 2023 has been released and is now available online.

The report covers areas such as environmental management, environmental performance, and environmental education at the Institute, and introduces current examples of environmental research undertaken by Tokyo Tech researchers. Other topics include environmental conservation activities conducted in cooperation with regional stakeholders and activities of student volunteer group Tokyo VG.

The report, which has been written while considering the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), uses a simple style to ensure that younger members of society, such as middle and high school students, can also grasp the Institute’s efforts.

Environmental Report 2023

Tokyo Tech strives to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases and the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050. The report also includes an evaluation of the Institute’s environmental goals in FY2022 and how these SDG-related initiatives can be improved in the years to come.

Like businesses, Tokyo Tech and other national university corporations are required to compile and publish environmental reports annually in accordance with the Law Concerning the Promotion of Business Activities with Environmental Consideration by Specified Corporations of 2004. The Institute has been publishing its Japanese version of the report since FY2005 and an English digest since FY2019. The 2023 English digest will be released in the near future.
