Tokyo Tech Festival committee seeks crowdfunding for LED display

The Tokyo Tech Festival executive committee has launched a crowdfunding campaign to realize the installation of a LED display on the outdoor stage of the Tokyo Tech Festival.

The Tokyo Tech Festival, a student-led event with a long history, attracts thousands of visitors each year. In academic year 2022, the executive committee successfully organized the first festival in four years after disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2023 festival, which will be held on October 28 and 29, may be the last of its kind — at least by name — as Tokyo Tech expects to merge with Tokyo Medical and Dental University in the fall of 2024.

With this in mind, the executive committee has set out to create a particular special Tokyo Tech Festival in 2023. The student committee’s plan includes the installation of a LED display on the big outdoor stage, which is positioned near the Main Building on Ookayama Campus. The stage and the nearby seating area are the venue for various events throughout the two-day festival, and a LED display would add a sense of realism to the performances while enhancing the experience for festival-goers.

This is the first time for the Tokyo Tech Festival executive committee to utilize the crowdfunding approach. The campaign runs until mid-September 2023. Visit the campaign website now to support the committee and help make Tokyo Tech Festival 2023 a truly special one.
