Toyota Australia recalls C-HR vehicles due to towbar label

Toyota Australia has today announced that it will initiate a recall involving 30,341 C-HR vehicles produced between December 2016 to October 2021. In the Australian market, there are a total of 826 affected Toyota Genuine Accessory Towbars that may be fitted to these vehicles.

This recall is an administration matter relating to towbar label information only.

The involved vehicles may be equipped with a genuine accessory towbar that was supplied without fitment of an ECE55 Type Approval label, which is required to comply with Australian Design Rule 62/02.

For all involved vehicles, Toyota Dealers will inspect the vehicle and if fitted with a Toyota Genuine Accessory Towbar, affix the label free of charge to vehicle owners.

It is expected that it will take approximately 15 minutes to affix the label. However, depending upon the Dealer’s work schedule, it may be necessary for the owner to make the vehicle available for a longer period of time.
