Traffic officer charged

State Traffic Command officers have charged a 51-year-old Senior Constable from the Traffic Enforcement Group with Dangerous Driving, following an incident in Forrestfield on Tuesday 16 June 2020.

It is alleged around 5pm, the officer was the rider of an unmarked Police motorcycle, sitting stationary on Dundas Road, Forrestfield when he identified an off-road motorcycle, with no number plate, travelling along Dundas Road.

It will be further alleged the officer attempted to stop the off-road bike and during this process, he drove in a dangerous manner.

The Senior Constable was charged with one count of Dangerous Driving and is due to appear in Midland Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 30 September 2020. He has been placed on restricted duties until the matter is finalised.
