Two arrested following Sunshine assault and robbery

Police have arrested two teenage girls following an alleged robbery and assault at Sunshine Railway Station on Friday (25 January).

Investigators have been told a 25-year-old Sunshine woman got off a train about 11.45pm and was walking along City Place when she was approached by three females.

The trio made demands for the victim’s mobile phone before allegedly assaulting her and taking her bag.

A 17-year-old Tarneit girl was arrested a short time later by a Protective Services Officer.

She has been charged with robbery, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault and bail-related offences and has been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Police later arrested a 16-year-old Kings Park girl on Saturday evening.

She was also charged with robbery, recklessly cause injury and unlawful assault and has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Police are still looking for a third girl in relation to the incident.
