Two US nationals have had their visas cancelled and been removed from Australia after being linked to an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG).
The men arrived at Melbourne International Airport on a flight from Los Angeles on 21 November 2018 and were subject to an examination by Australian Border Force (ABF) officers. During this examination, links were established with the Mongols motorcycle gang.
Both passengers had their visas cancelled under s116(1)(e) of the Migration Act 1958.
Acting ABF Regional Commander Greg Dowse said the ABF is committed to protecting the Australian community from harm.
“These gangs pose a significant threat to our community and are known to be involved in serious criminal activity including drug trafficking and violent crime,” Acting Regional Commander Dowse said.
“Any non-citizen involved with a criminal organisation such as a bikie gang can expect to be identified and targeted by the ABF, have their Australian visa cancelled and then be removed from the country.”
