An investigation is underway following the fatal shooting of a man in Parramatta this morning.
Just after 3.30am (Monday 26 August 2024), emergency services were called to Harold Street, after reports of a shooting.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a man, however, he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged 29.
Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic police.
About 3:45am, emergency services were called to a Abeckett Street, Granville, following reports of a car fire.
Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a sedan, which had been reported stolen, alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews attended and extinguished the blaze.
Police have established a crime scene and commenced investigations into the incident, with two men reportedly seen leaving the scene in another vehicle.
As inquiries continue, it’s not known if the two incidents are connected, however the fire is being treated as suspicious.
