VIPER seize drugs, cash and ID card printer – Cremorne

Officers from the VIPER Taskforce have charged two people overnight and seized various drugs of dependence, cash and an ID card printer as part of an investigation into drug trafficking in Melbourne.

Warrants were executed on Tuesday evening at a residential address on Punt Road in Cremorne, as well as a storage facility on Spencer Street in Melbourne.

A 40-year-old Cremorne man was charged with 20 offences, including traffick drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

A 23-year-old Cremorne woman was charged with 19 offences, including traffick drug of dependence and possess drug of dependence.

She was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 25 January, 2024.

Police seized various quantities of what appear to be cannabis, ecstasy, 1,4 – Butanediol, various prescription medications, a number of mobile phones and a quantity of cash from the Cremorne address.

A quantity of cash, an ID card printer and various quantities of what appear to be cannabis, and 1,4 – Butanediol were seized from the storage facility.

The VIPER Taskforce is a tactical and investigative unit based within Crime Command focused on preventing, detecting, deterring, disrupting and dismantling the criminal activities of groups such as outlaw motorcycle gangs, organised crime networks and street gangs.

The taskforce, which commenced in July 2022, supports the work of specialist investigation units and regional police by providing further resources to assist with investigation tactics and enforcement actions.

VIPER is an acronym for visibility, intelligence, prevention, enforcement and reassurance.
