  • The McGowan Labor Government is progressing its $1.3 million funding commitment towards revitalising the Waroona town centre, with the Premier today visiting the future site of the Waroona Community Precinct.

Premier Mark McGowan and Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke today joined Shire of Waroona representatives to inspect the site located off the South Western Highway.

The Shire has been undertaking community consultation on its town centre revitalisation project, including its proposed Community Precinct.

The precinct, in the heart of Waroona, includes open grassed areas for community events, a nature play area and playground, an all-ages skate park and pump track, accessible toilets and landscaping.

As stated by Premier Mark McGowan:

“Our investment will help return the majestic town of Waroona to its glory, providing a refreshed town centre for both local residents and visitors.

“The amenities this new precinct will provide, including playgrounds and a skate park, will help keep the local community active, healthy and strong.”

As stated by Murray-Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke:

“I’m working with Shire of Waroona to progress this exciting town revitalisation project and get works underway as soon as possible.

“The community precinct will be centrally located along the South Western Highway providing convenient access for the local community and visitors.

“Revitalising our town centre will keep our community strong by connecting local families and helping keep locals active and healthy.”
