Water For Wildlife

Thirsty wildlife around Bayside now has additional opportunities for a refreshing drink at one of our two new Water for Wildlife devices.

These prototypes were developed by wildlife rescue volunteers following the extensive bushfires in 2020. Bayside has installed two devices to trial in our inland reserves.

Our new Water for Wildlife devices can be found at the Bay Road Heathland Sanctuary and the Gardens for Wildlife display garden bed on the corner of Reserve Road and Talinga Road, Sandringham.

These devices will be regularly filled by our wonderful volunteers to ensure that birds, reptiles and insects have access to water especially during the long and hot summer months.

These two new devices add to existing water for wildlife devices set up by Friends of Native Wildlife around Bayside, including approximately 80 water bowls along the foreshore between Ricketts Point in Beaumaris and Brighton Baths.
