Wollondilly Council recognises the need for government agencies to work together to provide a secure water supply for residents, businesses and farmers in the growing Wollondilly Shire, now and into the future.
Council will be hosting a Water Symposium on Wednesday 19 May from 6pm-7.30pm, at the Council Chambers and via Zoom, to outline how water supply will be provided for our growing region and answer community questions on this important topic.
A panel of representatives from Sydney Water, Department of Planning Industry & Environment, Water NSW and Council will be addressing some of the issues around water and responding to questions from attendees at the event, in person and online.
Mayor Robert Khan said, “Our Shire is growing now and it is critical we prepare well for the future growth to come as well as drought and other climate impacts.”
“Having the key agencies together to outline their plans, answer questions and address the concerns of our community is a positive step forward.”
The Water Symposium is being held in response to a resolution made at the Ordinary Council meeting of 16 March 2021.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the event will be ticketed through Eventbrite and numbers in the Council Chambers will be limited.
