Weather update 22 July

The City of Gold Coast continues to monitor the weather situation closely, particularly the dangerous swell which has been impacting the coast today.

Safety is our number one priority and as such we closed our beaches to swimming today (Friday) and again tomorrow (Saturday). We will reassess beaches again on Sunday morning.

The Bureau of Meteorology is reporting that the conditions are hazardous for activities such as swimming, surfing and rock fishing. Boaties are also being advised to exercise extreme caution.

The wet and windy weather has resulted in several road closures and fallen branches around the city.

Please make sure you drive to conditions, watch out for hazards, and remember that if it’s flooded, forget it!

To report fallen branches in public areas visit the Report a Problem webpage or download the City App.
