Weekend Covid business checks, South Australia

Police checked 111 venues for Covid-19 compliance over the weekend with 10 found not to have ‘Covid Safe Plans’ in place.

Between Friday 10 and Sunday 12 July police checked licenced premises across metropolitan Adelaide. Two business fines of $5060 were issued, one to a Hostel on Waymouth Street and another to a nightclub on Currie Street.

These two businesses, along with another bar in Topham Mall were also issued EMA directions.

Police were pleased with the majority of businesses who were complying with directions but warn; businesses involved in a Defined public activity must have a COVID-Safe Plan in place in order to trade. If you have not completed a COVID-Safe Plan, do not have this available at your premises, or do not comply with current Directions, you can be fined up to $5,000.
