It was a great weekend for the Swifts with the annual Indigenous Round being held. A big thank you to Sonny and John Secombe for leading the pre-game ceremony and doing a fantastic job.
The Swifts retained the shield with seven sides winning on the day. The Tim Chatfield Medals were awarded to Todd Matthews (Football) and Erin Freeland (Netball) well done to both. Also, well done to Jordy Ralph who played his 100th game for the club.
All of the weekend’s games were played in great spirit and it was great to see both clubs recognising their indigenous culture of past and present players, who came together before and after the game. It is a day that the whole community should be very proud of.
Next week the Swifts have the bye, which is a chance for a few players to rest their bodies and get ready for the run into finals with two games to go.
