Western Australia coronovirus update as at 10 March 2021

The Department of Health has reported two new cases of COVID-19 overnight.

The new cases are a male and a female in their 40s who have returned from overseas travel and are currently in hotel quarantine.

However, the State’s total number of confirmed cases now stands at 921, a net increase of only one on yesterday due to one previously reported case having been reclassified as historical.

WA Health is monitoring nine active cases of COVID-19 and 903 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

Yesterday 2084 people were vaccinated. To date, 11,373 West Australians have received the COVID vaccine.

Yesterday at WA Health COVID clinics 441 people presented for testing – 439 were assessed and swabbed.

To date, 26 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (18 B.1.1.7 of the strain and 8 of the B.1.351 strain).

There have been 892,877 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 131,308 were from regional WA.
