Western Australia Covid update as at 21 April 2023

WA Health is reporting a total of 3,133 new cases in the past week to 4pm yesterday (20 April 2023). As of 4pm yesterday, there were 1,839 active cases in Western Australia.

As at 4pm yesterday, there were a total of 146 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with two in ICU.

Sadly, this week’s report to 4pm yesterday includes 13 deaths, dating back to 19 March 2023, which were reported to WA Health in the past week, aged from 72 to 101 years.

Total PCR tests for the timeframe were 4,706.

Total positive PCR tests for the timeframe were 414. Total positive rapid antigen tests (RATs) in this period were 2,719.

WA has recorded 1,314,729 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Anyone experiencing symptoms is strongly encouraged to stay home if they’re unwell, and until symptoms have resolved.
