WA Health is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 overnight.
The State’s total remains at 1112. To date, 1101 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
As of last night, WA Health was monitoring two active COVID-19 cases, both of whom are in hotel quarantine.
The Premier has today announced Queensland will remain classified as a ‘low risk’ jurisdiction.
Earlier this week, the State Government announced that Western Australia’s controlled interstate border was set to be safely adjusted, pending no further outbreaks, to allow for quarantine-free travel from Queensland, which was set to be permitted from tomorrow.
The transition has been paused and the decision will be reviewed on Monday, 25 October 2021.
Tasmania
WA Health continues to monitor the situation in Tasmania after a man in his 30s, who breached quarantine, tested positive for COVID-19.
Western Australians who have been at a listed venue at the specified times needs to self-quarantine for 14 days and be tested within 48 hours and at day 12.
Testing clinics
Yesterday, 431 people were swabbed at State-run clinics. To date, there have been 1,837,640 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 213,383 were in regional WA.

COVID-19 vaccinations*
Yesterday, 23,504 COVID-19 vaccine doses were recorded in WA – 13,263 of these were second doses. The total includes 4870 historic COVID-19 vaccine doses*. These figures represent COVID-19 vaccinations at State-run clinics and doses given as part of the Commonwealth rollout**.

As of this week, appointments are no longer required at State-run clinics in metropolitan Perth and regional areas.
An Aboriginal Family Day will be held at the Armadale clinic on Saturday, 23 October, where all Aboriginal people aged 12 years and above will be welcomed to the clinic with a Welcome to Country, food and other activities provided. Aboriginal people can attend from 10am to 4.30pm.
Vaccination information:
- New and expanded COVID-19 vaccination clinics are opening across Perth including:
- Armadale Central Shopping Centre and The Square, Mirrabooka (appointments are preferred but not required)
- Perth Airport for FIFO workers
- drop-in appointments for everyone aged 12 years at all WA clinics
- drop-in community clinics for young people aged 16 years and over (year 11 and 12) and school staff (external site).
- Western Australian children aged 12 to 15 years are eligible for a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination (external site). Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit rollup.wa.gov.au (external site) to register and book appointments for their children in this age group.
