Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 Wheelchair Rugby National Championship this May, with Wheelchair Rugby Australia officially launching event tickets overnight.
Netball SA Stadium, Adelaide will play host to the event for the first time, after a three-year hosting deal between the South Australian Government and Wheelchair Rugby Australia was agreed late last year.
The Wheelchair Rugby National Championship is the largest wheelchair rugby event in the southern hemisphere and will showcase the best Australian and New Zealand athletes playing for their various teams in preparation for the Paralympic Games in Paris later in the year. Australia are the current world champions, and will use the event as the major selection competition to finalise their list of 12 athletes to represent Australia at Paralympic Games.
World-class players Jonathon Hivernat (France) and Park U-Cheol (Korea) will also fly to Australia as part of a draft system, competing for Western Australia and Victoria respectively.
Wheelchair rugby is often described as an exciting, end-to-end full-contact version of gridiron and basketball combined, ensuring enthralling viewing for fans and spectators alike.

Major Events Attraction Committee Chair Leon Bignell said the 2024 championships would be a great addition to the array of sporting events in South Australia.
“The wheelchair rugby national championships is the latest event to showcase Olympic and Paralympic talent in Adelaide before the athletes take off for Paris later in the year.
“Already we have had qualifying events for track cycling and athletics, last year we had international men’s and women’s hockey and we have the national athletics championships and Equestrian Olympic qualifiers happening in April.
“All of these events bring money into our state and help grow our visitor economy.
“For sports fans who have never seen wheelchair rugby live, you must get out and watch this incredibly fast-paced sport up-close and personal. It is one of the most exhilarating sports.”
