Police are seeking to identify a man they wish to speak to in relation to a suspicious device located in Hawthorn earlier this month.
It is believed the device was placed in a public walkway underneath a Glenferrie Road shopping centre on 13 December last year.
The device was located about 4pm on 6 March and police, the Bomb Response Unit and emergency services attended and evacuated the building as a precaution.
The device was deemed safe shortly after.
Police have released an image and CCTV of a man they wish to speak with in relation to the incident.
He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, approximately 180cm, aged between 25 to 30 years old with a slim build and a brown beard.
He was wearing a grey t-shirt with a ‘Waterville’ logo on the front, dark jeans, black Nike runners and a grey cap with a logo on the front.
He was also carrying an orange hi-vis long sleeve top and a black backpack with a small yellow logo.
