Homicide Squad detectives are currently at an address in Neerim South after a woman’s body was located in a private residence last night.
Emergency services were called to the property on Wagners Road about 7pm.
A 74-year-old deceased woman was located at the scene.
An 83-year-old man was also found in the premises suffering non-life threatening injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in police guard.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be established but the death is being treated as suspicious.
At this early stage in the investigation, detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
