Yarra heritage walks form part of 2023 Australian Heritage Festival

Residents and visitors to Yarra are encouraged to get involved with the 2023 Australian Heritage Festival by taking a self-guided stroll through historical Yarra.

Coordinated by the National Trust of Australia (Victoria), this year’s Australian Heritage Festival runs 18 April to 18 May with the theme of “Shared Stories.”

Yarra Council is proud to share the history of its various suburbs via curated heritage walks. Eleven self-guided cultural heritage walks that explore Yarra’s history and share the stories of the past, and help shape the Yarra of today.

Downloadable from Yarra’s website, each walk highlights various aspects of cultural and social history across the municipality. There are also walks dedicated to the stories of First Nations people in Yarra and our local rainbow communities.
