Yass Turns Pink For Breast Cancer

NSW Gov

Breast cancer has had an impact on Yass Hospital staff, both personally and professionally. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Registered Nurse Deborah Woodward organised an afternoon tea and raffle for staff, who supported the month by going pink.

With over $300 raised for the Cancer Council, Deborah said, “as a breast cancer survivor, I am humbled by the support of my colleagues during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am proud as a recipient of Cancer Council care to be able to give back on behalf of our team.”

Breast Cancer Awareness Month takes place every October.

The aim of the month is to shine a light on the devastating impact breast cancer has on thousands of Australians each day.

1 in 7 women in NSW will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Regular screening mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early in women over 50.
