Young people come together for Youth Week

The City of Whittlesea is thrilled to be offering many exciting events and projects for young people to participate in to celebrate Youth Week 2020.

After being postponed earlier this year due to Covid-19, Victorian Youth Week 2020 has been reimagined into a month-long festival of events and projects for young people aged 10 to 25.

Young people in the City of Whittlesea are invited to come together to celebrate, share ideas and build connections.

It’s been a difficult year for all young people so Council’s youth services team Baseline has continued to engage members online in an effective way to promote resilience and build supportive communities and places.

Young people can join in FreeZa designed for those who want to enter the music industry, Adulting for Beginners covering life skills like budgeting and how to create an effective resume, Focusing on Hope a platform for young people learn new skills in photography and address the important issues around gender equity, mental wellbeing workshops and a forum with Young Enviro Activist Chrissy Downes.

Baseline’s vision is to support, facilitate and advocate for the needs and rights of young people from all backgrounds and abilities in the municipality and provide for their wellbeing and assist in fulfilling their aspirations.
