The result is in and a resounding 75% of participating NGA workers have voted down management’s proposed Enterprise Agreement.
This No vote provides the Gallery another opportunity to reinstate part time and flexible work rights, personal leave on engagement, and details of eyesight testing and study leave entitlements – and to address member claims on domestic and family violence leave, first nations rights, and work health and safety.
The CPSU bargaining team are urging management to come to the table and engage with worker claims and concerns, and we are seeking an urgent meeting with management to resume bargaining straight away.
Whatever happens, CPSU members and delegates will continue to stand for maintaining conditions, secure jobs and sensible improvements through a better bargaining policy.
Together we can and must shift the government’s position so that we have genuine bargaining in the federal public sector again.
