Accessible viewing first for Glenelg Christmas Pageant

To ensure everyone in our community feels welcome at the Glenelg Christmas Pageant on Sunday 26 November 2023, there will be a dedicated accessible viewing area along the pageant route for people who use wheelchairs or mobility scooters.

The accessible viewing area will be located at the junction of Jetty Road and Partridge Street.

There will be an accessible toilet at this location with additional accessible parking in the nearby Partridge Street car park.

Bookings are not required for this space but we ask pageant goers to please be respectful and allow the space to be used by people who require it.

The annual pageant is expected to attract around 25,000 people as we officially kick off the festive season in Holdfast Bay.

If you’re coming on the tram, please be aware that it will be terminating at the Brighton Road stop from 6am on Sunday 26 November 2023.

If you’re driving, we have six off-street car parking areas within the Jetty Road, Glenelg precinct.

There’ll be plenty of vantage points to view the pageant, which leaves from Rose Street at the eastern end of Jetty Road and travels along the main street and into Colley Terrace.

Make sure you’re behind the blue honour line by 10.15am, but you might want to arrive earlier to get a good vantage point and to do some chalk drawings before the pageant starts.

At 10.20am, a Welcome to Country will be held near the Chapel Plaza viewing area.

The pageant will start officially at 10.30am and Santa is expected to arrive at his final stop on Colley Terrace by around 11.30am.

Between 11.30am and 3pm, Santa will be in the Bay Discovery Centre for photos and to hear your Christmas wishes.

There’ll also be kids’ activities in Moseley Square to keep you entertained while waiting to meet Santa.

Do a spot of Christmas shopping at the Glenelg Sunset Markets which will be held in Moseley Square from 11am-8pm, or support the local traders along Jetty Road, Glenelg.
