Last week’s AgForce AGM – our fifth – was full of firsts.
The first time the AGM had hit the road, taking place at our Belmont Research Station near Rockhampton.
The first time it was streamed online via Zoom, with a split-screen set up that ensured you didn’t miss a moment.
The first opportunity anyone has ever had to take an aerial guided tour of Belmont via our high-tech drone streamed live from us to you at your office, tractor, or living room.
The media was there, as was Senator Matt Canavan, and as many members as COVID-safe protocols would allow.
AgForce General President Georgie Somerset, delivering her report, thanked outgoing Board members Robyn Bryant, Tracey Finnegan, and Alan Rae for their years of service, then welcomed Kelly Ostwald, Mike Pratt, and Bim Struss into the fold.
AgForce CEO Michael Guerin thanked you, our members, for making AgForce the strongest State Farming Organisation in Australia.
He also thanked our current corporate partners, and welcomed Nutrien and Suncorp, our newest, coming on board at the start of 2021.
Also beginning in the new year is AgForce’s Young Producers’ Council, which was announced at the AGM and features prominently – including an introduction to each of the Council’s members – in the summer edition of Envoy, due out soon.
With the AGM over it was time to catch up face-to-face with colleagues and friends, for some, for the first time since COVID hit our shores.
