The national employer association Ai Group congratulates Peter Dutton on his election unopposed as federal Liberal Party leader, and Sussan Ley for her election as deputy Liberal leader. We also congratulate David Littleproud on his election as the new federal National Party leader.
“Ai Group looks forward to working with the new opposition leadership team, and continuing the consultative and constructive engagement we enjoyed with the previous government,” Ai Group Chief Executive Innes Willox said today.
“We will work with the government and opposition in the support of sensible and sustainable policies that will promote the growth of wages, profits and productivity.
“The opposition will play a critical role in the next parliament, particularly in the Senate where the opposition and cross benchers can apply checks and balances that can genuinely influence the content and passage of legislation.
“The opposition parties will also be looking to develop their own fresh agendas and we look forward to contributing to that process,” Mr Willox said.
