Appeal after man kidnapped and assaulted at Terrigal, NSW

Police have released CCTV vision and are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into the alleged kidnapping and assault of a man on the Central Coast earlier this year.

About midnight on Saturday 12 February 2022, a 23-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Havenview and Hillcrest streets, Terrigal, when a black utility stopped beside him and four males exited the vehicle.

The man was assaulted before he was dragged into the vehicle and threatened with a knife and baton, sustaining a cut to his hand and ear and fractures to his face.

The man was then driven to a car park at Crackneck lookout where the males removed some clothing and jewellery, then leaving him on the side of the road.

A short time later, the males returned and further assaulted the man before he was dropped off near Hillcrest Street.

About 3.20am, the man was driven by family members to Gosford Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The incident was reported to police with officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District commencing an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV from licensed premises on Terrigal Drive, Terrigal, and would like to speak to a male seen in the vision who may be able to insist with the investigation.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with short hair, of solid build. He is depicted wearing white sneakers with black shorts and a black t-shirt with a motif on the front and back.

The vehicle depicted is described as a black sedan, possibly a Chrysler.

Anyone with information about the male or vehicle seen in the vision, or with additional CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, is urged to contact police.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
