Appeal After Public Place Shooting – Wentworthville

Police are appealing for information after a public place shooting in Sydney’s west last night.

About 7.45pm (Tuesday 20 February 2024), emergency services responded to reports of shots fired into a business on Wentworth Avenue, Wentworthville.

Officers attached to Paramatta City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

There have been no reports of injuries.

A short time later, emergency services were called to Fulton Avenue, Wentworthville, after reports of a fire.

On arrival officers located, a white vespa well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze before the motorcycle was seized to undergo forensic examination.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing to anyone who may have seen a white motorcycle, believed to be a white Vespa, being ridden by a man wearing a yellow high visibility-hoodie and a red helmet, in the vicinity of Wentworth Avenue, Wentworthville.

In addition, police are also appealing to anyone who may have seen a silver sedan seen in the vicinity of the motorcycle fire on Fulton Avenue, Wentworthville.
