NT Government

3 September 2022

Planning for next year’s dry season is well under way, with a new dedicated working holiday maker campaign for the Territory that will kick off in Germany in February 2023.

The Territory Labor Government is investing $2.6 million towards Working Holiday Maker campaigns in key international markets to attract tourism and hospitality workers to the Territory.

The upcoming Working Holiday Maker campaign for Germany will have an innovative approach, using promotions to get young school leavers to the Territory.

It’s a modern campaign, including activations within the NT featuring German backpackers that will be promoted through social media, live streams, radio, digital media, PR, and influencers from their home country.

There will also be enticing packages involving flights and NT job opportunities, aimed to attract German workers to travel to the Territory in 2023.

The working holiday makers employed across the NT will be featured in German radio and social media, targeting students looking for gap year experiences, driving future demand.

Campaigns already rolled out include the Work Hard, Play Hard campaign that is targeting working holiday makers already in Australia, enticing them to come to the Territory during the peak tourism season, as well as HOLIDAY FOR LIVING campaigns currently in Germany and the United Kingdom markets targeting, those who are already planning to come to Australia to choose the NT as their primary destination.

This week, Chief Minister Natasha Fyles has been advocating for the Territory at the National Jobs and Skills Summit, where attracting more skilled and unskilled workers to the NT is high on the agenda.
