Bikies charged over stabbing outside clubhouse in Blacktown – Strike Force Wirraburra

Criminal Groups Squad detectives have charged a fifth man over an alleged stabbing outside an OMCG clubhouse last year.

On Sunday 20 August 2023, officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were called to Blacktown Hospital following reports a 31-year-old man had presented with stab wounds to his buttocks.

Soon after, police intercepted a vehicle leaving the hospital and arrested the driver – a 34-year-old man – who was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with concealing serious indictable offence. He was refused bail and appeared at Blacktown Local Court the next day.

Local police commenced initial inquiries, before the matter was taken carriage of by State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad under Strike Force Wirraburra.

Strike force detectives established the 31-year-old man had been assaulted and stabbed by a group of men attached to an Outlaw Motorcycle Club (OMCG) outside its clubhouse in Blacktown.

The 34-year-old man previously charged had his charges upgraded to include: reckless grievous bodily harm and wounding in company, assault person intend criminal activity of criminal group, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

About 7.40am on Tuesday 29 August 2023, strike force detectives arrested a 69-year-old man at a worksite in Rouse Hill. He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company, affray and participate in a criminal group. He was refused bail and appeared in Blacktown Local Court on the same day.

On Thursday 7 September 2023, strike force detectives arrested a 37-year-old man outside Fairfield Local Court. He was taken to Fairfield Police Station, where he was charged with accessory after the fact wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was refused bail and appeared at Fairfield Local Court the next day.

About 10.15am on Tuesday 12 December 2023, strike force detectives arrested a 39-year-old at a worksite in Rouse Hill. He was taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and wounding in company, affray and participate in a criminal group. He was refused bail and appeared in Blacktown Local Court the next day.

Strike Force detectives then applied for – and were granted – an arrest warrant for an outstanding 29-year-old man.

Following extensive inquiries, about 6.15am yesterday (Friday 22 March 2024), strike force detectives – with assistance from Raptor Squad – arrested the 29-year-old man in Ryde by virtue of his outstanding warrant.

He was taken to Gladesville Police Station, where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault person intend criminal activity of criminal group and affray.

He was refused bail and appeared in Burwood Local Court the same day.

Police will allege the 29-year-old inflicted the stab wounds, while the other men assaulted the victim.
