Police are investigating a break and enter at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary early this morning.
At around 2:45am an unknown man has entered the sanctuary on Jesmond Road and has stolen a safe containing donation money.
The man has also attempted to break open an ATM.
The man is described as wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a blue shirt.
Police are appealing for members of the public who may have information or dashcam footage around the Fig Tree Pocket Road and Ormsby Street areas between 2am and 3am to contact police.
