Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at 2.25pm today, 29 October in relation to a fire at Deeragun.
Emergency services were called to an address on Alford Street at approximately 1.45pm following reports of a fire.
An exclusion zone has been established while emergency services respond.
The exclusion zone includes the Bruce Highway in both directions and extends from Geaney Lane to Hansen Court within a 500-metre radius.
Residents within the exclusion zone are being asked to stay indoors with their windows and doors closed.
A number of roads in the area may be affected.
Residents and motorists are urged to avoid the area, to drive to conditions and follow police directions.
