Briefings for Fire Services Reform

Update from Deputy Chief Officer Stephanie Rotarangi

As the developments of last week are being processed throughout our organisation, we’re putting in place regular briefings for our people from our leaders.

Briefings for Fire Services Reform

Next week we will start the first round of our monthly briefings for each district over WebEx and teleconferences.

Led by the ACOs and OMs, these briefings will provide updates on the progress of reform implementation, address specific enquiries for that district and take on notice feedback/questions that you seek answers for.

Over coming months there will also be scheduled visits, both from myself and from CEO/CO Steve Warrington, to brigades, districts and regions.

At these face-to-face engagements, our CFA leaders including myself and/or Steve, will be available to discuss needs and requirements.

One topic we’ve had multiple enquiries about is the presumptive rights in relation to compensation.

We have added advice received to our CFA Intranet, which includes outlining the difference in process for career and volunteer firefighters.

I understand there will be a number of different emotions about this reform.

CFA has multiple avenues of support available, for members and family, through the CFA Wellbeing Support Line (1800 959 232) or CFA Intranet.
