Buninyong traffic to flow better following new works

New street upgrades announced for Buninyong will improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians visiting local businesses and facilities.

The Victorian Government initiative announced today for Warrenheip and Learmonth Streets will include improved parking, the levelling of road surfaces and new streetscape works.

The Victorian Government will contribute $300,000 to the project followed by $200,000 from the City of Ballarat.

“The project will improve pedestrian safety and greatly assist anyone using local businesses throughout the Buninyong township,” the Mayor, Cr Ben Taylor, said.

“I also want to acknowledge the work of Buninyong and District Community Association and Bendigo Bank in supporting this project and providing a strong benefit to the community.”

“Buninyong is a growing, vibrant community that needs renewed infrastructure such as this,” Cr Jim Rinaldi said.

“The new works will greatly benefit residents and local businesses and will also serve to renew the streetscape.”

“The increased tree planting and improved public spaces will add to the vibrancy of the town,” Cr Des Hudson said.

“Buninyong will look even more stunning after these works are completed.”

The project is expected to be completed by mid-2021.
