Charges laid as Strike Force Porst continues in Roselands

A man has faced court, charged with drugs and firearms offences under Strike Force Porst.

Strike Force Porst was established in May 2022 by detectives attached to Campsie Police Area Command following a shooting at a unit on Canterbury Road, Roselands in May 2022.

About 10.15am yesterday (Wednesday 15 June 2022), specialist officers attached to the Tactical Operations Group stopped a vehicle on Todman Avenue, Kensington, and arrested the driver – a 26-year-old man – wanted on two outstanding warrants.

The man was taken to Maroubra police station where he was charged with the following offences:

  • Drive Whilst Disqualified
  • Possess prohibited drug
  • Discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm,
  • Acquire etc firearm – subject to prohibition order,
  • Acquire etc ammunition subject to prohibition order (x3),
  • Fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property,
  • Possess unauthorised pistol
  • Revocation of parole

The Constitutional Hill man was refused bail and appeared before Waverly Local Court today (Thursday 16 June 2022), where he was formally refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday 9 August 2022.
