City hosts workshop for local businesses

The City of Perth is hosting a Business Development Workshop to help the retail and hospitality sector prepare for the busy season and make the most of an expected surge in visitor numbers.

The three-hour workshop will be held on Wednesday 12 October.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the City is the place to be this Summer, with plenty of events planned in the CBD.

“Our City of Light truly shines through the summer months and we’re here to support businesses maximise this busy and prosperous time,” Mr Zempilas said.

“The workshop will provide participants with hints and tips about how to attract more customers and enhance their online presence. It’s also a great opportunity to speak with industry leaders as well as City staff about the services and support we provide,” he said.

The workshop will also cover off on how businesses can make the most of their shop fronts to attract holiday crowds, particularly during the festive period, whilst the second half will focus on social media campaigns.

Participants will then have an opportunity to participate in a panel discussion with industry representatives including:

• Economic Development (City of Perth)

• Edward Maradona (Cabinet Noir and Cabinet Noir Express)

• Claire Trolio (Ruck Rover, Northbridge)

• Lachlan Howarth – (Sneakers and Jeans)

• Agata Dharma – Business Station (Non-profit Business Support Service)
