EPA Victoria has issued a charge against Cleanaway Daniels Services Pty Ltd in relation to a fire on 8 June 2022, at their clinical waste processing at 34 Cahill Street, Dandenong South.
A condition of Cleanaway Daniels’ EPA Licence states “You must ensure that waste does not burn at the activity site.”
The fire resulted in clinical and related waste burning at the site in a hammermill which was used to treat the waste.
The fire emitted a large plume of dark smoke over Dandenong South until firefighters from Fire Rescue Victoria brought it under control.
The matter is listed for Dandenong Magistrates Court on 18 April, 2024.
