A licence amendment for the Rural City of Wangaratta’s Byawatha Rd West, North Wangaratta composting facility has been granted by EPA Victoria.
The amendment allows council to increase the quantity of compost it treats per year from 5,200 tonnes up to 12,000 tonnes comprising of kerbside food organics/garden organic (FOGO), green wastes & municipal green waste.
EPA Victoria granted the increase after examining the proposal to ensure council could manage the increased throughput without impacting the environment and human health and consultation with the local community lead by the Rural City of Wangaratta.
