Council grants support community groups

From workshop flags to defibrillators, Rockhampton Regional Council has today supported two community projects with nearly $2,500 of grants thanks to the latest round of the Community Assistance Program. It takes the annual total to over $340,000.

Communities Portfolio spokesperson, Councillor Drew Wickerson, said that Council was delighted to be able to continue to support community organisations during these tough times.

“The Community Assistance Program is all about supporting local not-for-profit organisations achieve their goals and carry out projects and events that benefit the entire community,” Cr Wickerson said.

“In this third and final round of the 2019-20 we have been able to provide funding assistance to two more local groups.

“The Central Queensland Family History Association will be able to keep members and the wider community safe with the installation of a defibrillator, and Capricornia Catchments can now replace their outdated signs and workshop flags.
